Windsor, Ontario is the southernmost city in Canada. It lies across the Detroit River from Detroit, Michigan. Windsor is actually located south of Detroit and marks the only border crossing where entering the United States from Canada involves travelling north. Windsor's nickname is the "City of Roses" and is home to the University of Windsor and St. Clair College. Every summer Windsor co-hosts the two-week-long Windsor-Detroit International Freedom Festival, which culminates in a gigantic fireworks display that celebrates Canada Day and the American Independence Day.

This is the home of Hiram Walker & Sons Limited distillers of Canadian Club Whisky. Tours of the historic distillery are open to the public year round and are free. Charlie Brooks Memorial Peace Fountain
Each summer the Charlie Brooks Memorial Peace Fountain is lifted by crane onto the Detroit River to pump 12,000 gallons of water over 70 feet in the air every minute. Over 150 lights illuminate the 20 minute water show, which runs daily until 11pm from May – October. Located at Coventry Gardens on the Detroit River.Coventry Gardens and Peace Fountain – The Park occupies 10 acres of created park land and is located directly across from Detroit's Belle Isle. During the summer months, Coventry Gardens attracts crowds of people who enjoy viewing the spectacular Peace Fountain, with its ever-changing patterns of coloured lights and water sprays. Detroit Windsor Tunnel
The underwater tunnel was opened on November 3, 1930 and still runs the width of the Detroit River. It connects downtown Windsor and Detroit. This is the world's only underwater border crossing designed to accommodate cars and is located 23 meters (75 feet) below the surface of the river and nearly 1,600 meters (almost a mile) long.
Fort Malden National Historic Site
This is an 18th century outpost of the British Empire with original earthworks, restored barrack, museum and orientation centre. The site focuses on the War of 1812 and border crisis of 1838. Gordon House 1798/Project H.M.S. Detroit
Built in 1798 overlooking the Detroit River, the Gordon House is fully restored and is the headquarters for the Project H.M.S. Detroit. Holiday Beach Conservation Area
This is claimed to be one of the best fall birding sites in North America. The 546 acre nature reserve contains over 2,000 feet of beaches, picnic areas, and a 2km trail along the edge of Big Creek Marsh. Jack Miner Bird Sanctuary
This world-renowned sanctuary, established by Jack Miner in 1904, is the marshalling and resting ground for the majestic long-necked Canada Goose during its seasonal migration. Jackson Park- Queen Elizabeth II Gardens
This Park features one of Windsor's most classic and elegant gardens which have won an Ontario Parks Association Award for the best lighted garden in Ontario. It covers 65 acres, with four of those acres occupied by the formal Rose Gardens. The Rose Gardens have over 12,000 rose bushes among 450 varieties.
